Q: Can someone else pick up my packet (bib, shorts, etc) for me? A: YES.
Q: Are strollers allowed? A: Unfortunately, we cannot allow strollers for the 1/2 marathon or 5k races.
Q: How old do you have to be to run the races? A: Please contact us if you are under 18. Participation IS allowed, however we must have parental consent in the form of a waiver.
Q: Is there a time limit for either race? A: There is no time limit. However, the Egg Hunt will begin at approximately 11:30am, which is 3 hours after the start of the 1/2 marathon and 2 hours 15minutes after the start of the 5k.
Q: Can I switch from the 1/2 marathon to the 5k (or vice versa)? A: Once the race sells out (expected to sell out mid-February), we can allow switching from the 1/2 marathon to the 5k only. We cannot reimburse the difference after the race sells out (as registration is closed), so we can only allow runners to go from the 1/2 marathon to the 5k.
Q: Is there an extra charge to participate in the egg hunt? A: All registered participants are able to participate in the egg hunt! We do have a smaller children's egg hunt (12 and under, please) for the younger kids as the race egg hunt gets a little crazy!
Q: What's up with the age group categories? Why isn't there a 15&Under? A: We follow the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA)'s age group categories. We hope to be a CARA Circuit race in the next coming years, so plan to follow their guidelines/practices in putting on our race.
Q: Signmeup charged me twice. Will I get refunded? A: This occasionally happens and is resolved within 24 hours. Please contact us if it has been longer than 24 hours and we will get in touch with Signmeup as well.
Q: Do ALL finishers get a medal? A: Yep! Anyone who finishes the 1/2 marathon OR 5k will receive a cool finishers medal (see "Event Details" page for photo of medal).
Q: Is the course flat? A: There are two points in the 1/2 marathon where runners encounter a "hill"...and by that we mean that you run over a bridge (the one that goes over Higgins Rd) on the way out (approx mile 2) and on the way back (mile 13)...otherwise, the course is pretty flat!
Q: Is there gear check available? A: Yes. Gear check will be by packet pickup (under the pavilion). You will use the tag on your bib (the one with the hole) and attach it to your bag. Volunteers will be working gear check from 7am-11:30am.
